This is a recent visit to Ole Ole Bali @ Sunway Pyramid.
When we arrived, which was around 7+pm, the restaurant was crowded. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, we place our orders. We ordered a jug of Barley lime drink, a Bali trio, a BBQ chicken dish. It was three of us and we would be sharing the food.
The food arrived on timely manner. By them, there were only few tables occupied.
If you have not tried the Barley lime drink, you definitely need to give it a try! It’s a barley drink with lime juice. It’s concentrated hence the richness of barley and the sourness of the lime strikes perfect balance. We enjoyed it pretty much and ordered another jug!
Now, let’s talk about Bali trio. What’s in this dish? This dish is a big portion dish, consists of BBQ chicken wings, sate lilit and deep fried squid dipped in flour batter. It’s accompanied with sambel matah, sambel terasi and tartar sauce.
This is the BBQ chicken. Although it looks like a typical bbq dish, it was rather good. Its a portion of half chicken which has been marinated in herb and spices and barbequed. Served with a portion of rice, keropok, sambel and a portion of vegetable.
For dessert, we had Pisang bakar. Its grilled camerilized banana served with vanilla ice cream. This dessert is very sweet. If you are someone who are not into very sweet, best to skip this. Since we shared this, it was ok to have a small portion for each of us.
Generally the staffs are attentive. Could be better in making sure the plates are cleared on time rather than being asked to do so. Overall enjoyed our dining here. The environment of this place is quite cool, decorated with paintings and wood carvings, very ‘balinese’.
Visited in May 2014. How would I rate them? The atmosphere 4/5, Service 4/5, F&B 4/5.
